A Happy Birthday to one of our heroes, Nelson Mandela. He turned 91 yesterday.
Part of the birthday celebration for the first International Mandela Day includes the Mandela Handwall Project. The goal of this project is to get people to commit to volunteering just 67 minutes in their community. These hours represent the 67 years Mandela has spent making the world a better place.
Making it so simple for New Yorkers to volunteer, the Handwall site lists specific opportunities based on their date, activity, location, and hours required. All you have to do is click the button and register to show up… (and then you really have to show up).
With so many things out there to do…. in every town and city, how could we not? We’ll report back after our volunteer time!
