Earlier this month, on a beautiful sunny Friday, we took a field trip with good friend and collaborator Erik Marinovich, from San Francisco up to Sausalito to visit Heath Ceramics. Having wanted to visit the factory for years, but never quite making the time for it in our trips out west, the day had finally arrived. We went on a Friday tour, (highly recommended over the weekend tours because the factory craftspeople are working, unlike on the weekend). While reservations are recommended, the tour itself is free, thorough, and fascinating. Heath is made up of great folks who are inviting and knowledgeable.
