This is the first in a regular posting we will try to do every friday highlighting something, someone or somewhere we are in love with.

First up voted best new brewery by enormouschampion is Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. Hailing from the North Fork of Long Island, the brewery opened in July of 2009. We stumbled upon this brew at a local restaurant (more on that later) and were instantly smitten with their logo. A clever usage of our mammalian ocean friend, perfect for the waterfront town of Greenport, LI, we wish we created it ourselves.

The beers speak for themselves.

…and a few pints later and we were in love with this new discovery.

Their offerings include the following…

Harbor Ale: A balanced ale with a rich golden hue. Slightly fruity hop character, this ale features a blend of Fuggle and Tettnang hops.

India Pale Ale: This American style IPA features three of the finest American ‘C’ hops: Chinook, Columbus, and Cascade. The bold hoppiness is offset with notes of caramel from crystal malt.

Summer Ale: A golden ale infused with Orange Blossom Honey. The honey is added post fermentation to add a distinctively sweet finish.

Black Duck Porter: A black ale that puts the flavor of the malt front and center. It has a mild hop character that balances strong notes of cocoa and hints of coffee. A full-bodied treat that pairs well with chocolate as well as fresh shellfish.

Immediately ask your favorite pub/haunt/watering hole to carry these fine brews. Love for any day of the week.
