Walking around this week it was obvious what this Friday’s post was going to be about. Autumn. There’s something about this particular change of the seasons that is like no other. Some are refreshed after their summer months off while others are just happy that the stillness of the heat has finally left for another year. In New York there are about 4 weeks in the year where the weather is a perfect balance of the extremes (2 weeks in the spring and 2 in autumn) bridging the gap between the blistering heat and the bitter cold. It’s the best time for a stroll (away from a computer screen) towards a park with a sketch book to watch the leaves change and fall…. or even better to take an aimless road trip where there are lots of leaves for a day hike or antiquing.
