The superlative Grafik Magazine has a section in their blog called The Daily Type where they ask someone to contribute found typography from various locations. This week we have the reins and we’re featuring images of Sinhalese typography from a trip we took to Sri Lanka/Ceylon a few years back. All the images were captured by Jordan.

Usually, we agree on most things, but there are those few times when we simply must compromise. After all, what describes a marriage more accurately than compromise? When it came time to decide on the color way for this print, Jordan wanted black and gold while Jason preferred silver and gold. We decided to letterpress it both ways.

A vortex of antique skeleton keys illustrated as a letterpress print. 2 colors with a third, clear tint, used to discreetly print our logo at the center/bottom. In 2 different colorways…. Black + Gold in an edition of 125 and Silver + Gold in an edition of 150.

Both prints are signed and numbered on the back.

As it turns out, we didn’t compromise at all which made both of us happier than any compromise could have. Maybe next time?

This card which we are calling “…So Very Special” is inspired by the radio edit of the song Creep by the band Radiohead, where a certain word is replaced with”very”.

The card size is 5.5″ x 4.25″ and is blank on the inside. Letterpress with red ink on bright white paper and a matching red envelope.

The card opens from the left side for those extra long messages….

Just in time for all of your lovey-dovey needs (ie. Valentine’s Day) is this print we’ve just completed. Ever and a Day, a 3-color letterpress print, is a celebration of a love that never ends. The line is taken from “Love Is Here to Stay” by George Gershwin. Perfect for anniversaries, weddings, engagements and first dates.

Friends of Type are happy to announce the release of our first letterpress print series. Started in September 2009, FoT is a typographic dialogue, exploration, and archive between friends Aaron, Dennis, Erik, & Jason. With an appreciation for all things typographic, we sketch, scan, and refine a collection of daily missives to share. The prints comprise of works previously submitted for the site, as well as newly created. Expertly letterpressed by our friend and enormouschampion, Jordan Provost, the prints are an homage to the typographic ephemera from which FoT is inspired.
