We Love Liam

giveaway_for_liam

Lynn Russell is an acquaintance of ours… (whom we hope someday we can call friend), and fellow letterpress printer based in Corvallis, Oregon. She is the designer and printer behind Satsuma Press, and she is hosting a ‘Giveaway’ to raise some money.  She asked us to be a part of it, and we gladly accepted.

Lynn’s son, Liam, was born with  a neuromuscular disorder- Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 2.  A couple of weeks ago, she began a blog called We Love Liam, where she is able to write about her son, and offer some perspective on raising a child with SMA.

Friday I’m In Love (no.007)

…with Chronicle Books. Many of the books that fill our shelves have the familiar spectacles logo of this fine San Francisco publisher, from the essential Star Wars Chronicles and the Blue Note album cover books to Ann and Paul Rand’s Little 1, Chronicle has always produced some quality printed publications.

postcards_sneak2

Last year the good people at Chronicle asked us to work with them on a project and now we are happy to share a sneak peek of what we came up with. Our Love Is Here to Stay: 15 Postcards of Affection is an accordion book of postcards that collects new and old artwork about affections of all sorts. They were also kind enough to give us a little shout out on their blog. Working with them was a real treat and we hope to do it again. We heart those guys and gals heaps.

These finely crafted videos from The Scout capture something really special, letting us into the worlds of leather making with Billykirk and architecture with Roman & Williams. The first 2 episodes, in a series of intimate portraits of makers and creators, discuss thought and creative processes, inspirations and craftsmanship. Looking forward to future episodes from The Scout on more inspiring folks.

Keds Collective

ec_keds_group01

We were asked to participate in the Keds Collective, where Keds got a bunch of creative folks together to apply some of what they do onto the Keds style of their choosing. We finally got around to applying some of what we do onto some footwear…. starting with the Keds Champion slip-ons for namesake reasons. Take a peek at what we came up with here.
